I believe I am disconnected from the land.

I have turned my gaze towards my origin and resources. I collect and work with materials from my home area: a rural environment with agriculture and forest industry. I paint with pigments that I have made from plant dyes I cultivate and harvest each year, make paper sheets from old newspapers, and build frames with wood felled by an arborist.

The alchemical term solve et coagula describes the refinement process that material goes through when transforming into another form. I imagine how dissolution and coagulation can occur in painting and how I can manifest that physically.”
